Seagulls in Rome

Did you know that a group of seagulls is called a squabble?

Just as well there is only one in Kettlestitch Press’s new book A Construction of Cranes. The Press met this bird in Rome recently, on our way to Bologna via the Forum. If you look carefully, you can see a modern crane on the horizon in the right of the picture.

Cranes were used in building by the Greeks and Romans who called large ones ‘polyspastos’.
